Head to head · Desk research
These are the two light electric dirt bikes Australian buyers shortlist most often. Both publish 8 kW peak power and both are sold for off-road use only. The bigger differences are price, what each brand chooses to publish, and how you buy one.
Desk research from each maker's or seller's Australian pages, not a ride test. We don't pick a winner. Figures checked between 29 October 2026 and 29 October 2026.

Sale price. Checked 29 October 2026.
Surron Australia lists the 2026 Light Bee X from $7,490 RRP, excluding pre-delivery and freight. The official Talaria distributor, A e-Bikes, lists the Sting R MX4 at a $5,000 sale price, down from $6,500. At today's listed prices the Talaria is $2,490 cheaper, but the Talaria figure is a sale and may change.
Both makers publish 8 kW peak. Talaria also publishes 4 kW continuous; Sur-Ron does not publish a continuous figure, so you can't compare sustained output from published numbers.
The Light Bee X lists 2.52 kWh and the Sting R MX4 2.7 kWh. Neither says whether that is nominal or usable capacity. Claimed range is up to 75 km for the Sur-Ron and up to 100 km for the Talaria, with no test conditions stated for either, so treat the gap as a claim, not a measurement.
Weights are 59 kg for the Light Bee X and 66 kg for the Sting R MX4. Neither seller says how the bike was weighed. Talaria lists an 840 mm seat; Sur-Ron does not publish a seat height for the Light Bee X.
Claimed top speeds are 75 km/h for the Light Bee X and 88 km/h for the Sting R MX4. Both are maker claims.
The Light Bee X is ordered through Surron Australia dealers. The Sting R MX4 is sold by the official Australian distributor in NSW, and interstate prices vary with freight. Ask either seller who handles warranty and parts in your state.
Each figure is as the Australian source publishes it. Weight bases differ between makers, so read the label under each weight. "Not published" means the source doesn't give it; we never estimate.
